About your Artist and Hosts
Your hosts, Kristi McLean and Brad Langvardt, are true Alaskans having spent most of their adult lives working and enjoying the great Alaska outdoors. Together, they form the perfect team for your Alaskan Experience.
Kristi, a life long Alaskan, was raised in a log cabin by her pioneer parents. By the age of 20, she had already coached skating and skiing, commercial fished, and was running her own boat and crew. Commercial fishing for salmon, halibut, crab, and herring have taken her throughout Alaska's waters. A self-taught artist, working primarily in clay, she teaches and creates art in her studio, camps, retreats, and schools.
Brad arrived in Alaska as a teenager, found work with a big-game guide, and at 21 became a registered guide. He started his own guiding business and for over 20 years guided hunters and fishermen from all over the globe. Being a pilot for over 40 years, he has been able to see most of Alaska from his plane. In addition to building wood skiffs and drift boats, he is a skilled story-teller.
