We decided we needed to get away before the start of a busy summer & enjoy some time "ON VACATION". Between Beaches was the perfect setting! The weather cooperated & we enjoyed an amazing day hiking, kayaking, tide pooling, and of course enjoying an evening beach fire.  It was incredible to sit on the Kachemak Bay side, in the sun with no wind while the other side of the spit was whipped by the wind! It was the perfect get away! Also...let it be known...the BEST s'more ever created was accomplished on this beach. EPIC...TRUE STORY!

We were here for our honeymoon in 2017.  As we were leaving, found out I got a job in Homer! Went back to AZ, sold everything and was back in 3 weeks.  Best decision EVER.  Don't wait.  Follow your dreams and create the life you want.  This is such an amazing place.  Will be coming back for the rest of our lives.

What an amazing place to spend our anniversary weekend.  Kristi was so kind and accommodating.  We went tide pooling and found a baby octopus!! Saw eagles super close, had fires on the beach and drove to Seldovia.  So much happened in so little time and we wish we could have stayed longer.  We look forward to making this a yearly get-away.  Thank you!!!

We had fun and relaxing getaway. Lots to do - Tidepooling, hiking, biking, boating, strolling the beach. And then, a hammock to rest in, a beach fire, just watching the sunset.  Very cool place.  Thanks for sharing! And thanks for the tea -

What a lovely, long Memorial Day Weekend for our family!  Despite the rain(which was so relaxing at night), we tide pooled and played on the beach.  We loved collecting sand dollars, seeing a baby

"octopus, baby halibut, and many anemones. Thank you for sharing your sweet cabin between the beaches!

I am a long time Alaskan and my favorite place to go is MacDonald Spit. You have the expansive and powerful ocean on one side and a tranquil, ever-changing lagoon on the other. The natural Alaskan scenery can pull it off all on it's own, but what Kristi and Brad have done with Between Beaches is incredible. They have taken raw beauty and entwined it with comfort. It is a fantastic place to come and unwind. You can stare at the incoming waves or take a stroll down the beach and see what the tide has brought in this time. It caters to families with children, a romantic getaway, or even the solitude of being by yourself.

The cliche for tourists coming to Alaska is to take a cruise, but you miss so much of the Real Alaska. I recommend to everyone I know to come and experience the small and secluded heaven that Between Beaches has to offer you. It's my favorite!

Our family spent a week up in Kristi's cabin and had the adventure of a lifetime! The kids did not want to leave and have asked to go back next summer. There was so much to do and explore, it was such a perfect place for a family vacation. I could also see it being the perfect place for me to relax without kids, but I don't think I would be forgiven if I went back without them.

We had some great low tides and the sealife was just amazing, tide pooling at 11:30 at night was surreal! And we spent hours just sitting on the deck watching the bald eagles. The scenery in Alaska is so gorgeous it looks fake! We felt like we were in our own personal National Geographic show!

The cabin was perfect for us, and Kristi has it set up with the little extras you won't find in a hotel room (or cruise ship) that just make your stay so much more comfortable.

Walking around the property is like going on a treasure hunt, you will be rewarded everywhere you look with Kristi's art and the many fantastic little pieces of nature that she has collected over the years. The hardest part is trying to decide where to relax, on the deck overlooking the bay, or on the beach listening to the waves. Both spots have views to die for and the ability to rejuvinate the soul.

This is one of our most favorite family trips and still talking about it. We had always wanted to go to Alaska and thought the best way to see it was on a cruise. This was so much better than I ever expected and we never could have had this type of experience on a cruise. Thank you Kristi!

Last summer my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed several stays with Kristi at Between Beaches on the gorgeous Mac Donald Spit. We live in Kenai, Alaska and we have traveled to many wonderful places around the state. Mac Donald Spit is by far the most unique, tranquil setting we have ever experienced! The scenery and wildlife surrounding the spit is truly magical.

During our first stay in June, we were lucky to be there during a minus 5 foot tide. This made for excellent clamming, tide pooling, and beach combing. Full sand dollars, shells, smooth rocks, sea stars, and anemones were abundant…we were in heaven! We also enjoyed having a fire every night and looking across Kachemak Bay as the sun slowly set over the Alaska Peninsula. Wildlife viewing was abundant. We enjoyed watching bald eagles, sea otters, and the salmon jumping every day. We were there again in August which made for excellent salmon berry picking.

Kristi is a talented artist. Her work is entwined throughout the property which makes for a great atmosphere. Her art is derived from the all the unique findings in and around the spit. This makes you feel like you are part of the beautiful world that surrounds you there. Even the cabin’s private bath is decorated with a clay sea kelp shower! Her hospitality and genuine love of her property will keep us coming back.
