Between Beaches Alaska Lodging sits on MacDonald Spit, between the waters of Kachemak and Kisitsna Bays, thirteen miles Southwest of Homer and eight miles Northeast of historic Seldovia. We provide reliable and unforgettably scenic transportation from the road system terminus in Homer to our property at Between Beaches.

We will bring you right to MacDonald Spit Beach at or near your lodging. Your arrival time and the current tide will dictate where on the beach we will park and our staff will transport you to your cabin steps. **Please be sure to advise us of your taxi plans at the time of booking.

TRANSPORTATION CHOICES FROM ANCHORAGE, ALASKA TO HOMER, ALASKA

DRIVE

Travel from Anchorage to Homer, Alaska by road, two hundred twenty-one-miles, this is one of the most scenic drives in Alaska. On your journey, you will travel South from Anchorage on the Seward Highway then on to the Sterling Highway and the Kenai Peninsula. Homer is at the end of the Sterling Highway. On your drive you will view majestic snowcapped mountains, brilliantly blue crystal-clear waters of the world-famous Kenai River, Cook Inlet and finally the breathtaking Kachemak Bay and the Homer Spit. You cannot reach us by car* from the Homer spit and will need to take a water taxi across the bay to Between Beaches Alaska.

*Vehicles can travel to Seldovia via The Alaska marine highway but we do not recommend this due to the infrequency and reliability of this service.

FLY

Ravn Alaska Air and Aleutian Airways run regular routes from Anchorage to Homer and then you will need to book a water taxi across the bay. True North Air will fly direct from Anchorage to Seldovia where you can get a car taxi to MacDonald Spit. If you are an experienced bush pilot you can fly into Seldovia Alaska or coordinate to land on MacDonald Spit when the conditions are right **Please be sure and advise us of your travel choice in advance.
